Ordering and Prices
What is an I am bobblehead custom bobblehead?
It is a polymer clay bobblehead that our artists hand-sculpt to look like the person or pet in your photo. You can order one figure, a couple, a family or group of up to 10 figures, and pets. In a set, a pet counts as one figure.
How do I place an order?
Choose the product for the number of figures you need, upload a clear photo, add your notes and check out. Write pose, outfit or accessory requests in the "Note" box on the product page, or email business@youclay.com. If you can't upload photos at checkout, you can email them after purchasing.
How much does a custom bobblehead cost?
Prices start at $77 for a pet figurine and $92 for a single person, up to $691 for ten figures. Current prices: pet figurine $77-$84; single woman, man or child $92-$115; person & pet $115-$130; couple $138-$169; three figures $184-$253; four $276-$299; five $299-$323; six $323-$376; seven $422-$461; eight $469-$507; nine $584-$615; ten $638-$691. For groups of more than 10 people, email business@youclay.com.
Do you accept payments other than PayPal?
Yes, other payment methods are accepted. If the credit card channel fails, you can pay by card through the PayPal channel without a PayPal account.
Can I order a bobblehead of a celebrity or professional athlete?
Not without their permission. If you can verify the relationship and obtain permission, we will provide an authorization form. Otherwise, we can sculpt the celebrity's or athlete's body (same clothing, pose, body type, etc.) with a custom head of a friend, coworker, spouse or yourself.
Photos and Changes
What photos should I send?
Send one clear, front-view photo of each person or pet. The artist sculpts hair and facial expressions from your photo, so a sharp, well-lit, high-quality photo gives the best likeness. If you have more photos, contact us at business@youclay.com.
Can I make special requests?
Yes, write them in the "Note" box on the product page or email business@youclay.com.
Can I change the pose or outfit after ordering?
Yes, pose changes are free within 48 hours of ordering. For full custom bobbleheads, a change after 48 hours costs an additional $15, because the artist can't use the premade body and must sculpt a new one.
Can I change the face photo after ordering?
Yes, photo changes are free within 48 hours of ordering. After 48 hours a photo change costs an additional $15, because the face has to be remade.
Can I add an accessory?
Yes, small accessories are free and large ones cost extra. Note the accessory in your order comments and send a reference picture. Books, glasses and hats are free; we charge for big accessories like chairs, guitars and pets.
Production and Shipping
How long does a custom bobblehead take?
We need 7-15 workdays to make your bobblehead, then it ships. Normally the standard shipping time is 10-15 days, express shipping time is 5-7 days. The shipping time depends on the method you choose at checkout. Production and delivery slow down during holidays and other peak times.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to 40+ countries worldwide. Will I have to pay import taxes?
International recipients may have to pay VAT, import taxes, customs duties or fees set by the destination country. These charges are paid by the recipient. We have no control over them and cannot predict them.
Materials and Care
What material are the bobbleheads made of?
They are made of high-quality, nontoxic polymer clay. Polymer clay is colorful and easy to shape, so your bobblehead looks vivid and lifelike.
How heavy is a bobblehead?
A single bobblehead weighs about 500g (approx. 17.5 oz.), or about 700g (approx. 24.5 oz.) packaged. Two bobbleheads are about 1400g (approx. 49 oz.). Accessories like a car or motorbike add weight.
How long does a clay bobblehead last?
The shape and color last for a very long time. Each finished piece is baked at 200°C to set its shape and becomes tough, similar to plastic. In testing, temperature and humidity don't affect it. Keep it where it can't fall, as with any handmade figure.
Gifts and Refunds
What occasions is a custom bobblehead good for?
It makes a personal gift for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, holidays, Mother's Day, Father's Day, graduations, retirements and pet memorials. Allow 7-15 workdays for production plus shipping when you plan around a date.
Can I get a refund or cancel my order?
You can cancel your order free of charge within 24 hours of placing it. After 24 hours, a cancellation fee of 20% of the order total applies, because sculpting has already started. Because each bobblehead is custom-made, refunds and exchanges are not available once your order is in production. Sculpting, especially people, is an art, not a science. We work from photographs, so photo quality matters a lot. Even with a good photo, some people see a strong resemblance and others less so. With a good photo, our trained artists should achieve a good resemblance.
